Summary
Lumbar spinal stenosis was studied in 106 cases. Causative factors are defined. Three groups are classified according to symptoms. Two factors responsible for the symptoms of cauda equina claudication are considered to be swelling of nerve roots and vasodilatation and the importance of posture is stressed. Finally, the results of conservative and operative treatment are discussed together with the indications.
