Abstract
The roots of the plantMedicago sativa (family Fabaceae) have yielded, in addition to the medicoside G described previously, two more triterpeneglycosides, caulosaponin B and the new glycoside medicoside C. The latter has the structure of hederagenin 3-O-[α-L-arabinoyranosyl-(1 → 2)-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 → 2)-α-L-arabinpyranoside].
