Biosynthesis and metabolism of some matrine alkaloids inGoebelia pachycarpa

  • Published:
Chemistry of Natural Compounds Aims and scope

Abstract

Information is given on the biosynthesis, metabolism, and interconversion of a number of matrine alkaloids isolated fromGoebelia pachycarpa. The role of amino acids and other organic acids in the formation of these alkaloids is discussed.
