Summary
Using surface and microanalytical methods (Auger electron spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and analytical electron microscopy) the interface in the SiC fiber reinforced Ti6A14V alloy and in the Al2O3 fiber reinforced Al12SiCuMgNi alloy was investigated. The analytical methods can be used for an understanding of the interface reaction process taking place during composite processing and allow a judgment on the effectiveness of fiber coating in composites.
