Summary

1. Anthraquinone pigments forming derivatives of 1,6,8-trihydroxy-9,10-anthraquinone have been found in the starfishEchinaster echinophorus (Lamarck).

2. The structures of the pigments isolated are identical with those of pigments of sea lilies.
