Summary
Steroid glycosides of the cardenolide group have been found inOrnithogalum magnum.
Three glycosides, provisionally called substances a, b, and c, have been isolated by adsorption chromatography on alumina.
Substance a is 3β-(O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl)-11α, 14β-dihydroxy-5β-card-20(22)-enolide (rohdexin A).
