Conclusions

1. A technique has been proposed for defining a set of diagnostic examinations as required in an outpatient organization serving a population of 50,000–60,000 people for the various stages of the diagnostic process. The list of diagnostic examinations needed for full health evaluation runs to 95 items, of which 50% of the total volume will be carried out in the polyclinic, 29% in the second stage and 21% in the third stage.

2. Working formulas have been derived for the numerical values of the informative features for each diagnostic examination together with an algorithm for summarizing the results.

3. The structure of the diagnostic methods has been defined, and consequently that of the technical facilities for functional-diagnosis sections that have to be realized in polyclinics and in external organizations for comprehensive examination of each patient individually.

4. The structure of the necessary diagnostic examinations has been defined in order to realize the treatment and diagnostic process in various specialities involved in outpatient reception.

5. Diagnostic examinations have been identified that can be realized by the polyclinic itself and which should be automated, updated, or improved.
