Biomedical Engineering Aims and scope

Conclusions

1. By means of a two-channel hysterograph it is possible to determine the functional state of the contractile activity of the uterus even before the onset of regular labor activity.

2. Coordinated labor activity with a pronounced gradient of contractile activity from the fundus to the lower segment is recorded hysterographically in the case of the regular physiological course of labor, whereas with uncoordinated activity of the uterine contractions there is increased activity of the lower uterine segment, which is one of the causes of the protracted course of labor.

3. By means of the method of external two-channel hysterography it is possible to study the effect of drugs used during pregnancy and labor on the contractile activity of the uterus and their efficacy.
