Abstract

The effect of oxidation temperature and duration, cyclic oxidation-reduction regimes, and vacuum treatment of previously oxidized porous material on the kinetics of capillary transport against the force of gravity is studied. It is shown that oxidation markedly reduces gas permeability due to development of their free surface and an increase in frictional losses with gas flow. Vacuum treatment of preoxidized structures reduces the rate of impregnation as a result of deterioration in copper wetting by water.
