Abstract

A quantitative evaluation of the effect of structural factors on the elastic modulus of biporous metallic materials was made on the basis of experimental data and phenomenological analysis. A correlation between the structural parameters and the phenomenological properties was obtained. It was shown that structural parameters such as λ (the ratio of the pore forming material and powder particle sizes) and ϑ (the volume fraction of pores) are insufficient for an adequate description of the structure of a biporous powder system.
