Concentration and displacement waves — General analysis

Abstract

This article is concerned with the method of static concentration waves (SCW), used in describing ordered phases, and with the theoretical derivation of superstructures. The SCW theory is also generalized to the case of polar superstructures. The symmetry connections are analyzed between SCW and static displacement waves (SDW). Phase relations are obtained between SCW and SDW. The possible experimental consequences of the results obtained are analyzed.
