Abstract
It is shown that chemical reactions between boride coating phases and atomic hydrogen are thermodynamically possible. Relationships characterizing the process of high-temperature interaction of hydrogen with boride coatings on iron are obtained. The thermodynamic parameters of the processes are determined; these parameters enable one to predict the direction of the interphase reactions and their character.
