Abstract

We suggest a method for the quality control of the places of welding of metal current leads into the glass envelopes of cathode-ray tubes by loading their stems with bending moment and simultaneous recording of acoustic-emission signals. This method gives significant gains in the duration of testing. It is shown that selective testing of some stems is insufficient for the adequate evaluation of the quality of welding in the product and it is necessary to inspect each stem of the tube separately.
