Abstract

We study some problems connected with the estimation of fatigue damages to torsion shafts on the basis of an analysis of parameters of the signals of acoustic emission recorded in the course of static and cyclic tests. We describe the experimental procedure and present the results of the tests. Hypotheses that can explain the dependences obtained are suggested.
