Conclusions
It is desirable to use a mechanical transporter with a smooth cable in new developments of multipurpose intracavity gamma-therapy equipment for multiposition and permanent irradiation. Such a cable in combination with a polyurethane drive roller has passed working tests in an experimental intracavity apparatus employing a mobile radiation source, which has been used mainly to irradiate esophageal tumors.
