Fibre Chemistry Aims and scope

Abstract

It was shown that the interfibre friction force in complex untwisted fibres is proportional to the fibre twisting rate, which is characteristic of the complete lubrication type of friction. The necessity of considering the torsional vibration damping coefficient in determining the rigidity in twisting fibres with high interfibre friction was demonstrated. An automated method of measuring the twisting indexes was described and can be used to assess the rapidly changing properties of a fibre under the effect of external fibres (liquid or thermal treatment).
