Conclusions

1. It has been found that grafting PTFE to SVM reduces the degree of crystallinity of the starting fibre; the depth of grafting depends on the radiation dose.

2. The formation of water clusters in swollen fibres on grafting the hydrophobic PTFE to SVM is caused mainly by water—water interaction, which depends on the grafted PTFE content.
