Conclusions

Chemically and thermally stable Polifen fabrics have been developed for reinforcing ionexchange membranes which are used in pilot-plant production of chlorine and caustic soda instead of the mercury method.

The thermoconvective method of stabilization assures the greatest reduction in shrinkage of the Polifen fabrics due to action of high temperature.

The experimental Polifen fabrics with an intertwisted weave have a more uniform cell size and shape.
