Summary
Experimentally-induced hyperthyroidism in rats caused a remarkable wasting and progressive pallor of skeletal muscle. Histologically, there was considerable atrophy of the muscle fibres, histochemically, this proved to be mainly a type I fibre atrophy.
Zusammenfassung
Experimentell hervorgerufene Thyreotoxikose bei Ratten zeigte eine erhebliche Verschmächtigung und Abblassung der Muskulatur. Histologisch ergab sich eine deutliche Atrophie der Muskelfasern, die sich enzymhistochemisch vorwiegend als Typ I Faseratrophie wahrscheinlich machen ließ. Myopathische Veränderungen fanden sich nicht.
