Conclusions
-- Industrial polyacrylonitrile fibres which have been prepared by the thiocyanate method are characterized by considerable instability in thermal and thermo-mechanical properties.
-- Lack of constancy in such technological parameters as itaconic acid content of the polymer, temperature and concentration of the precipitation bath, and stretch ratio exert a considerable effect on the stability of thermal and thermo-mechanical properties.
-- Stabilization of these investigated parameters will obviously make it possible to significantly reduce instability and mechanical properties of carbon fibres.
