Abstract
The effect of cold-working on 16, 23 and 30 at% Mn iron-manganese alloys (C<0.05 at%) has been examined using Mössbauer spectroscopy and X-ray diffractometry. The induced martensitic transformation γ→ε, α′ depends on the composition and on the initial structure. It is found that the γ→α′ transformation in presence of the ε phase occurs only at high deformations.
