Abstract
Optical methods have been developed for high temperature application in the determination of the basic quantities, E, Young's modulus and ν, Poisson's ratio. The methods are simple and the techniques are inexpensive. The methods presented have been tried on commercially available soda-lime-silica glass and consistent results were obtained.
