Summary
A new GLC method for analysis of urinary mandelic acid as trimethylsilyl derivative was developed. The method was applied to the urine of plastic workers exposed occupationally to various concentrations of styrene. When compared with a colorimetric method the GLC method appeared to be superior in both sensitivity and specificity.
