Summary
This paper deals with the torsion problem of composite bars with L- or cruciform section. Using the function which is the conjugate harmonic function to the warping function of the torsion problem, the governing equation for the torsion problem is obtainable. The problem can be easily solved by using a partitioning plan and the series solution of Dirichlet's problem of the Laplace equation on the rectangle. Two examples with numerically calculated results of the torsional rigidity are presented for exemplification.
