Summary
The threedimensional steady flow of an incompressible inviscid fluid around a prolate spheroid at incidence is studied. The displacement effect of the body on the uniform onset flow is represented by means of a source distribution on its surface. The modification of the flow by the lift acting on the spheroid is represented by means of a source doublet sheet on the wake surface. The comparison of the calculated pressure distribution on the surface of the spheroid with a pressure distribution measured by other authors shows that the agreement is substantially better when the lift effect is taken into account.
