Summary
Lagrange-Hamilton's method is generalized so that it becomes applicable to linear, non-conservative, non-selfadjoint problems. Hence a, variational and a conservation principle can be formulated for this type of problems. Stability investigations in the sense of Ljapunov can be founded on the conservation principle.
