Summary
For the double vortex enclosed in a circular cylinder, for Hill's spherical vortex as well as for the straight vortex pair and the circular vortex ring, the ratio of the useful momentum to the needed momentum (effective momentum ratio) is determined on the basis of published data concerning the shape and velocity of these vortex systems.
