Abstract
The authors have studied the compounds TiCl4 and Ticl4,2 HCN, using a modified GTO-CNDO2 technique suitable for application to transition elements. The results concerning the bond length Ti-Cl and the order of molecular levels in TiCl4 are in agreement with experimental values. A. Mulliken population analysis on TiCl4, 2 HCN indicates that the Ti-N bond has practically pure σ character.
