Summary

Albumin of ascites tumor fluid was labelled in vivo in the ascites bearing rats by injecting tritiated l-Leucine.

Cells of Yoshida ascites tumor were incubated in vitro with this radioactive albumin. Incubations for several periods of time resulted in incorporation of a consistent amount of radioactivity into the tumor-cells.

The results obtained under different experimental conditions seem to indicate that the 3H-albumin is taken up by an active and complex mechanism probably involving pinocytosis.
