Summary
-
1.
The ethyleneimine quinones “Bayer A 139” and Bayer “E39” act upon nucleic acids only in an acid medium (pH≦7); proteins are not affected (pH 6,0).
-
2.
The reaction mechanism of this effect and the possibility of selective influence upon the tumour by lowering of its pH-value is discussed.
