Abstract

It is shown here that all processes occurring in a conservative system should take place in its stationary states. A new quantum-mechanical procedure is set out for approaching the problem of the probability of these processes, from which there arises directly an expression for the rate constants of these processes in the stationary states, which is inherent in the theory of transitional configuration. This expression is used subsequently for an approximate calculation of the rate constant (stationary) of intramolecular regrouping in the case of one normal coordinate (in a harmonic approximation).
