Abstract

It has been found that illumination in the impurity absorption region of silica-supported zirconium oxides intensifies considerably their ability to catalyze the oxidation of isobutylene to acetone. A correlation has been established between the photocatalytic activity of these compounds and their photoluminescence intensity in vacuum.
