Über die volumetrische Bestimmung von Oxalat- und Wismutionen durch Fällung als Wismutoxalat unter Verwendung von Metallindicatoren

Zusammenfassung

Oxalat ist ähnlich dem Phosphat in salpetersaurem Milieu mit 0,1 m Wismutnitratmaßlösung gegen Xylenolorange-Methylenblau oder Methylthymolblau-Methylenblau titrierbar.

Der Äquivalenzpunkt ist sehr gut zu beobachten, wenn die Titration in Gegenwart einer entsprechenden Menge Chloroform in einem mit eingeschliffenem Glasstöpsel versehenen Kolben durchgeführt wird.

Auch die Umkehrung der Titration zur Bestimmung von Wismut mit Oxalatmaßlösung ist gut durchführbar, wobei die notwendige Säurekonzentration durch den Salpetersäuregehalt der untersuchten Wismutlösung gesichert ist.

Oxalate can be titrated in nitric acid medium with 0.1 m bismuth nitrate solution (similar to phosphate) using xylenol orange-methylene blue or methylthymol blue-methylene blue as indicator. The end point can be observed easily when the titration is performed in presence of an appropriate quantity of chloroform in a flask with ground glass stopper. The titration is also reversible and may then be employed for the determination of bismuth with standard oxalate solution. In this case the acid medium is provided by the nitric acid content of the bismuth solution.
