Summary

The basically unexplained enlargement of lymphatics around tumors is of special importance for early metastasis of malignant melanoma. Lymphatic vessels also can be enlarged before early tumor stage and before clinical manifestation of the metastasis Melanoma cell spread is significantly influenced by the hydrodynamic characteristics of the lymph stream. The early lymphogeneous spread of tumor cells neither depends on the structure of melanoma cells nor the special type of primary tumor. The enlargement of lymphatics evidently enables micrometastasis into the regionary lymph nodes.

Zusammenfassung

Die ursächlich ungeklärte Erweiterung der Lymphgefäße im Tumorbereich hat besondere Bedeutung für die Frühmetastasierung des malignen Melanoms. Die Lymphgefäße können auch über das Frühstadium hinaus und vor der klinisch manifesten Metastasierung erweitert sein. Bei der Absiedlung der Melanomzellen spielen strömungsmechanische Momente eine wichtige Rolle. Die frühe Geschwulstabsiedlung auf dem Lymphwege ist unabhängig vom Typ des Primärtumors wie von der Gestalt der Melanomzellen. Diese Lymphgefäßerweiterung ermöglicht offenbar auch die Mikrometastasen in den regionären Lymphknoten.
