Summary

A new electroanalytical approach, utilizing controlled-potential coulometry, for the determination of water has been devised. The proposed method involves the coulometric measurement of iodide produced by the stoichiometric reaction of water with Karl Fischer reagent and shows promise of providing a selective means of water estimation without prior chemical calibration.
