Summary
The spectrometric determination of silicon within the range of 0.3 to 5 g Si/l has been performed by means of the cascade-stabilized arc according to Riemann. Colloidal pseudo-solutions of silica have been applied from which all cations (including the sodium ions from the alkaline fusion) have been removed by ion-exchange. The method is especially suitable for medium and low silicon contents. The standard deviation amounts to 3.7% (rel.).
