XXXL. Basicities of phenylisoxazoles

Abstract

The ionization constants of 14 phenylisoxazoles in acetic acid were determined by a spectrophotometric method. The ionization constants of 4-R-3,5-diphenylisoxazoles correlate well with the Hammett σm constants of substituents R.
