Abstract

This review covers the reactions of homophthalic anhydrides and their related C-H-acid anhydrides with compounds containing carbon-oxygen or carbon-nitrogen double bonds, which yield compounds with a substituted or condensed α-pyrone or α-pyri-done ring.
