The mode of action of phalloidin: Demonstration of rapid deformation of isolated hepatocytes by scanning electron microscopy

Summary

Suspensions of rat liver cells were treated in vitro with 25 μg phalloidin per ml cell suspension. After an incubation time of 10 min marked deformations of cell surfaces were observed in scanning electron micrographs. The effect is discussed within the context of previous morphological and biochemical results.
