Abstract

The reaction of an N-methylquinoxalinium salt with a β-diketone under thermodynamic-control conditions leads to 2,3-disubstituted tetrahydroquinoxaline via cycloelimination of the initially formed tetrahydro-endo-furo[2,3-b]quinoxaline.
