Zur automatischen Analyse von reinsten Wässern

Summary

The principle of a method for the analysis of purest water and its performance by an automatic installation are explained. The method comprises complex formation of the determinable traces with EDTA, reaction of its excess with an amount of cadmium equivalent to the quantity of EDTA, and polarographic determination of the uncomplexed Cd. The latter is equivalent to the sum of the elements Al, Bi, Cd, Co, Fe, Ga, In, Ni, Pb, V, Zn, and Zr, which can be determined in the lower ppb-range. All the electromechanical processes are controlled by a programme switching apparatus which controls the programme of the single functions such as additions of the reagents and water samples by means of automatic pipettes and the transport of beakers by motor-drive. Experiences by this automatic installation and measurement results are reported.

Zusammenfassung

Das Prinzip einer Methode zur Analyse von reinsten Wässern und die Ausführung in einer automatischen Anlage werden erläutert. Das Verfahren beruht auf der Komplexbildung der erfaßbaren Spuren mit ÄDTE, Reaktion des Überschusses und einer der ÄDTE-Menge äquivalenten Menge Cadmium und polarographischen Bestimmung des nicht komplex gebundenen Anteils an Cd. Dieser Anteil entspricht der Summe der (im unteren ppb-Bereich) erfaßbaren Elemente Al, Bi, Cd, Co, Fe, Ga, In, Ni, Pb, V, Zn und Zr. Die Anlage wird von einem Schrittschaltwerk gesteuert, welches das Programm der einzelnen Funktionen, wie Dosierung durch automatische Pipetten und Gefäßtransport durch Motorantrieb, bestimmt. Die Erfahrung mit dieser automatischen Anlage und Meßbergebnisse werden mitgeteilt.
