Summary
Suspensions of Streptococcus faecalis R decarboxylate l-tyrosine and l-Dopa; there is little or no decarboxylation of metatyrosine. After treatment of the suspensions with toluene an ability of the decarboxylase to act upon metatyrosine is unmasked.
