Summary
A sample of 1–5 mg is burnt in a stream of air or oxygen, the sulphur being converted to SO2 which is adsorbed on silica gel. In the case of very low sulphur contents the procedure is repeated and SO2 is accumulated on silica gel. After desorption by heating, SO2 is measured by means of a non-dispersive IR-gas-analyzer. The time required for one determination is 4 min. The mean variation coefficient is V=±0.03.
Zusammenfassung
Nach der vorliegenden Methode zur Bestimmung des Schwefel-Gehaltes werden Probenmengen von 1–5 mg in einem Luft- oder Sauerstoffstrom verbrannt und das gebildete SO2 zunächst an Kieselgel adsorbiert. Bei äußerst geringen Schwefelgehalten wird der Vorgang wiederholt und das SO2 am Kieselgel angereichert. Nach Desorption des SO2 wird dieses mit einem nichtdispersiven Infrarotgerät gemessen. Eine Bestimmung dauert 4 min. Der Variationskoeffizient beträgt im Mittel V = ±0,03.
