Summary
Critical tests of several methods used for the determination of sugar showed that none of them is adequate to provide accurate data if applied to the skin. Even the encymatical determination of glucose with glucoseoxidase usually regarded as an absolute prove is not conclusive. Additional inaccuracy comes from procedures for removing and preparing the skin specimen for analysis. From this point of view the data published in the literature concerning the sugar content of the skin are assessed judiciously.
Zusammenfassung
Die kritische Prüfung verschiedener dem Zuckernachweis dienender Methoden führte zu dem Ergebnis, daß keine von ihnen zuverlässige Aussagen über den wahren Zuckergehalt der Haut erlaubt, auch nicht die als streng spezifisch geltende enzymatische Bestimmung der Glucose mittels Glucose-oxydase. Hinzu kommen Fehler, die bei der Entnahme und Aufarbeitung der Haut auftreten können. Unter diesen Gesichtspunkten wird zu den im Schrifttum vorliegenden Arbeiten über den Zuckergehalt der haut Stellung genomen.
