Summary
The insolubility of the salt formed by the reaction of diberyllium-tricarbonate with cobalt(III)-hexammine in water allows an indirect polarographic determination of beryllium down to >0.1 ppm by measuring the decrease of the Co3+ concentration. Simultaneously, a number of other metals can be determined in the same solution which is of great advantage for the analysis of beryllium containing alloys. The standard deviation is 2%.
