Determination of some β-adrenergic blocking drugs by differential pulse polarography

Zusammenfassung

Zur Bestimmung von β-Blockern wurde eine einfache polarographische Methode entwickelt. Nach Überführung in die entsprechenden N-Nitrosoderivate wurden 4 Wirkstoffe in reiner Form und in Tabletten differentialpulspolarographisch bestimmt. Die Ergebnisse waren gut reproduzierbar und ergaben Variationskoeffizienten von unter 2%.

Summary

A polarographic method has been developed for the assay of four β-adrenergic blocking drugs as the pure drugs and their tablets. The assayed drugs are determined polarographically by conversion to the N-nitroso derivatives. The differential pulse mode was employed because it offers increased sensitivity comparable to other conventional methods. The results obtained are reasonably reproducible with a coefficient of variation less than 2%.
