Abstract
By the condensation of the mercury salt of benzotriazole with acetylpentosyl bromides in xylene, we have synthesized 1-benzotriazolyl-2′,3′, 4′-tri-O-acetyl-β-D-ribo- and-xylopranosides, the deacetylation of which has given anomalous nucleosides- antimetabolites of nucleic metabolism: 1-benzotriazolyl-β-D-ribopyranoside and 1-benzotriazolyl-β- D-xylopyranoside.
