Abstract
The reaction of vinylindole with bromine, chlorine, and iodine in CCl4 solution in the cold leads to the formation of charge-transfer complexes (CTC). The formation of CTC has been confirmed by a study of the physicochemical properties and the IR and UV spectra of the reaction products.
