Summary
The presence of calcium phosphate as matrix after the mineralization of bones influences the trace determination of cadmium and lead by electrothermal AAS. The atomization of the matrix elements calcium and phosphorus is investigated as a function of temperature and method of decomposition. It is shown that cadmium and lead can be separated from the matrix directly in the graphite tube using a relatively low atomization temperature because of their smaller volatility. Thus, a preceding extraction process can be avoided.
