Abstract
2-Acyl-substituted 3-methyl(phenyl)-9-methylimidazo[1,2-a]benzimidazoles were synthesized by three methods: by the reaction of α-halo ketones with 3-benzoyl-2-imino-1-methylbenzimi-dazoline, by reaction of acetic anhydride or acetyl bromide with 1-methyl-2-phenacylaminobenzimidazole, and by acylation of 3-substituted imidazo[1,2-a]benzimidazoles. Some of the properties of the resulting 2-acyl-substituted compounds were studied.
